What is RCRA Corrective Action?
RCRA Corrective Action applies to permitted sites where hazardous waste was treated, stored or disposed after 1980. It requires companies to investigate and clean up releases of both hazardous and non-hazardous waste to the environment at those sites. Why Connecticut? Connecticut has one of the largest populations of RCRA Corrective Action High Priority Sites. Of the 170 sites in New England, Connecticut has 130 sites. On a nationwide scale, Connecticut has more facilities in the RCRA Cleanup Baseline than 47 other states. What are CTOG’s Goals? Our mission is to work with the regulatory community to develop an efficient, consistent, and cost effective process to complete RCRA corrective action while protecting human health and the environment.
