What is rate adaption?
Rate adaptive DSL (RADSL) is a technology that extends the operational reach of an ADSL connection, by adjusting the upstream bandwidth based on line quality and condition. A RADSL-enabled connection increases the approximate maximum distance supported by ADSL services from 3.5 to 5.5km. This increases the catchment area for DSL services from a serving local exchange to over 90% of connected homes and businesses. The upstream bandwidth will vary between 64Kb/s and 256Kb/s.
