What is Random Acts of Kindness Week all about? When is it?
Random Acts of Kindness Week is a grass roots campaign to celebrate the power of random acts of kindness. The goal is to reverse the tide of anger and violence in our society by increasing self-esteem and deepening our connection with others through the practice of simple, day-to-day kindness to our fellow humankind. Random Acts of Kindness Week has traditionally been celebrated in February, during the week of Valentine’s Day, in more than 1,000 communities across North America. Since the formation of the World Kindness Movement in 1997 and the declaration of World Kindness Day on November 13, many communities are now choosing to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Week in the week leading up to this global celebration. Most recent celebration: February 11-17, 2002.
