What is radiant heating?
A modern radiant heating system is an energy-efficient heating system in which hot water is passed through tubing that is laid either within a floor, installed beneath it, or run within baseboard casings. In the former two methods, the thermal mass of the floor itself stores and radiates the heat.
Unlike traditional heating systems that warm the air, radiant heating gently warms surface areas. We circulate warmed water through tough, durable tubing, which we’ll install beneath your floor, in your walls, or on top of your ceiling. The heat then transfers or “radiates” to warm both the surfaces and you. Other types of heating systems focus on heating the air. The surfaces stay cold in those buildings, and those cold surfaces pull heat away from the body, making you uncomfortable. The gentle warmth of a radiant heating system surrounds you with a subtle, soothing warmth that no forced-air system can match. You’re going to love it.
