What is RACS?

0

RACS is the Resident Access Control System firewall. It is the “executive branch” of the ResNet, responsible for enforcing network policy with regards to computer virus infections, copyright violations, abuse of network resources, etc. When a person’s machine is not properly configured, infected with a computer virus, or when they have gotten caught doing something on the network they should not have done, RACS enforces University policy by denying the student’s machine network access to the University network and the commercial Internet.
