What is quality assurance testing?
Quality assurance testing ensures that every part of the e-learning course works properly before deploying the course to the learner audience. This kind of testing reviews key functionality, such as: navigation (testing all links, buttons, playback controls, branching, and so on) performance on varying operating systems and web browsers (Does the course work on both a Windows Vista PC running Internet Explorer as well as a MAC running Opera or Firefox?) bookmarking (taking the learner back to the right spot when they leave the course) asset playback (ensuring that video, audio, animations, and images perform as designed) data communication with the learning management system. Quality assurance testing is different from course review in that the purpose of quality assurance testing is to test the elearning course functionality. The purpose of course review is to ensure you have the right course content.
