What is PvE and PvP?
PvE (Player versus the Environment) is usually considered your standard type of play. This is when the player (or a group of players) does battle against the NPCs (Non player characters) of the game. PvP (Player versus Player) is when the player or his group of friends is fighting against another person or group of PCs (player characters). There are also different types of each of these within PvP and PvE. For instance, Dark Age of Camelot, an MMG, used Realm versus Realm PvP, where three regions of land fought against each other. There is also free-for-all PvP, which means anyone and everyone could be open to assault.
