The pulse button is used when you need short bursts of power at the optimum speed. This is controlled by the user which means you control how long the machine is run for. It is a useful way of avoiding over processing. For example, it can be used to fold fruit into a cake mixture at the end of processing.

The Purdue University Interdisciplinary Life Science Ph.D. program (PULSe) provides opportunities for an interdisciplinary graduate experience in basic life sciences for Ph.D. students. PULSe offers: flexibility through first-year laboratory rotations; team experience within interdisciplinary cohorts; world-class facilities and resources; and diverse research opportunities across multiple disciplines. PULSe is an interdisciplinary program that includes faculty members from 27 different departments/programs at Purdue. There are currently over 170 faculty in PULSe.
