What is public transportation like in Piedmont?

The free public transit in Emeryville is really a special case, not found in most cities. Most of Alameda County is served by two systems: – AC Transit (bus system in parts of Alameda and Contra Costa Counties) – BART (train system serving much of the Bay Area) http://www.actransit.org/main.wu?r=n http://www.bart.gov/ Piedmont is a small affluent town entirely within Oakland. The nearest BART stations (MacArthur and Rockridge) are about 1.5 to 2 miles away, and won’t help you get to Emeryville. Unfortunately, the maps that are usually available on the AC Transit web site don’t seem to be working right now, so I can’t get information there. Another good source of information on public transit throughout the Bay Area is this site: http://www.511.org/ For instance, I asked it for the following trip on a weekday: – start: Oakla
