Region of Waterloo Public Health continues to work with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to support the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) in ensuring that the recalled products are not sold or distributed. Public Health is focused on keeping hospitals, nursing homes, retirement homes, and child care facilities in the region informed regarding this recall. Local emergency rooms, urgent care clinics and physicians have also been advised to be on alert for cases. In addition, in support of the CFIA, Region of Waterloo Public Health staff are contacting certain non-chain food premises to ensure operators are aware of the recalled products and that these products are not being served.
