What is Protected Mode in Adobe Reader X, and what does it do?
Protected Mode represents a new advancement in mitigating the impact of attempted attacks. By default, Adobe Reader X opens files within an isolated, or “sandboxed,” instance of the application, which can mitigate the risk from attackers who seek to install malware on the user’s computer or otherwise change the computer’s file system.
