What is Propranolol hydrochloride?
Propranolol is used alone or in combination with other drugs to treat high blood pressure. It is also used to treat angina pectoris (chest pain usually caused by lack of oxygen to the heart due to clogged arteries), changes in heart rhythm, familial or hereditary essential tremor (involuntary, rhythmic movements, usually limited to the arms), hypertrophic aortic stenosis (a condition related to exertion-related angina), and tumors of the adrenal gland. Propranolol is also used to prevent migraine headaches and to reduce the risk of dying after a severe heart attack.
