What is proportional technique?
The quality of any tyre inflation system shows in the accuracy (of the inflation pressure of the tyres to be adjusted). Experts agree that only if proportional technique is employed, it is possible that all connected tyres adjust to the exact same pressure. If one would use different pressure switches for the controls, the tolerances would possibly add up and could lead to a deviation of the set point of 0.5 bar or more. Especially in the lower pressure region this could easily result in damage of the tyre. Using proportional technique, all connected tyres are led to a valve, where the actual pressure is adjusted to the set point. One of the characteristics of this valve is the large volume of air flowing at the beginning of the adjustment process (when the distance between actual and set point is biggest).
