What is Project Scope Management?
Per PMI’s 4th Edition PMBOK, scope management: “Includes the processes required to ensure that the project includes all the work required, and only the work required, to complete the project successfully. It is primarily concerned with defining and controlling what is, and is not, included in the project.” Contains the following processes: 5.1 Collect Requirements (P) 5.2 Define Scope (P) 5.3 Create WBS (P) 5.4 Verify Scope (M) 5.5 Control Scope (M) (P=Planning Process, M=Monitoring and Controlling Process) Product Scope: The features and functions that characterize a product, service or result Project Scope: The work to deliver the product, service, or result, with the specified features and functions Completion of the project scope is measured against the Project Management Plan.
