What is Project 2°?
Project 2° is a set of practical tools and services to enable cities around the world to measure, compare and reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The project’s Web-based Emissions Tracker software enables cities to calculate the carbon footprint of both municipal operations and the communities they service in a uniform way. Additionally, the tool enables cities to plan meaningful actions that save energy and money, and that makes a profound impact in the fight against climate change. The project is a key component of the Clinton Climate Initiative’s diverse efforts to ensure that cities around the world have the products, services and tools they need to effectively reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Project 2° is a collaboration between CCI, Microsoft, and ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability. Additional expertise has been provided by the Center for Neighborhood Technology (CNT) and Ascentium Corporation.
