What is production and what does a producer do?
Production is the art of preparing and orchestrating a song for presentation on a demo or CD release. To produce a song or recording is to mold it into the best form for its intended audience. Demo production is generally designed to get a song listened to, reviewed and selected for licensing and purchase. Production for a CD or digital release is usually designed to present the entire recording so it will have the greatest acceptance by the music-buying public. Production for either a demo or CD/Digital release should be handled by an experienced producer with expertise in the entire music creation process. This is a primary area of service expertise and focus at HMM.
