What is Product Design: Textiles Technology?
Product Design Textiles is designed to encourage you to: • Develop a broad view of Design and Technology. • Develop a capacity to design and make textile products. • Appreciate the complex relations between design, materials, manufacture and marketing. The course is available at AS/A2 level. The AS course is designed to be completed in one year and comprises two units. Students can continue into the A2 year and complete a further two units to gain the full A level. At AS, you will have the opportunity to study and work with a wide variety of fabrics and components used in the design and making of textile products. You will work in both two and three dimensional forms. You will gain an understanding of industrial and commercial practices within the area of design and manufacture. At A2, the course offers you the opportunity to further develop the knowledge and practical skills from AS.
