What is Probable Cause to Search My Vehicle?
Legally, police may search any vehicle if the officer has probable cause or a warrant to do so. It is important that police have probable cause prior to searching any vehicle. If the officer does not, and performs the search, any evidence or results of that search may be inadmissible in a court of law. It is always recommended that individuals who are dealing with law enforcement work with an attorney to determine if probable cause in the case was evident.
