What is proactive disclosure?
• Proactive disclosure is the mandatory requirement for all Government of Canada departments to report the following information on their respective departmental Web sites: • grant and contribution awards $25,000 and over (this includes Aboriginal Business Canada contributions); • travel and hospitality expenses for selected government officials; • contracts entered into by the Government of Canada for amounts $10,000 and over (with only limited exceptions such as national security); and • the reclassification of federal public servant positions ; • This reporting is done so that Canadians are better able to hold Parliament, their Government, and public sector officials to account.
