What is PrizeMoney?
With its all new face and the bifurcation of our English and Hindi portals, MyNews (English) and MeriKhabar (Hindi) have launched a PrizeMoney system to recognize the work of our esteemed Citizen Journalists. There will be maintained a record of each and every submission of our CJs. A jury of judges will evaluate the record of our CJs based on the number of submissions and their quality. As a result they will announce the Citizen Journalist of the Week (Rs. 2,000), Citizen Journalist of the Month (Rs. 10,000) and Citizen Journalist of the Year (Rs. 50,000) awards. These prizes may be given in different News Categories, so that more Citizen Journalists may get their due rewards. If the prize winner is a foreign national the PrizeMoney will be US$ 50, US$ 250 and US$ 1250 respectively. According to the bilateral tax agreements India has with many other countries, any money earned by foreign nationals outside of India is automatically subject to the tax rates of said countries.
