AES Ib Valley Corporation Limited has purchased 49% of shares of OPGC. The GRIDCO, which created four subsidiary companies WESCO,NESCO, CESCO and SOUTHCO to undertake distribution and retail supply for the whole of the state has divested 51% of share in these companies to strategic investors who are required to bring in money, management and technology for better performance,. While BSES Ltd. has acquired 51% of the share of WESCO, NESCO and SOUTHCO with effect from 01.04.1999 a joint venture of AES Trans-power and Jyoti Structures bought 51% of share of CESCO with effect from 01.09.1999.
