What is print optimization?
The term “print optimization” is often used pertaining to software and printers and RIPs that are designed specifically for variable-data printing (VDP). It refers to a paradigm that is based on isolating the text and graphics that will be the same on each document in a print run from the text and graphics that will be different on each document in that print run. It also allows the RIP to process the text code and graphics that will be the same on each document ONLY ONE TIME – as opposed to forcing the RIP to process that code over and over, once for each document in the print run.
