I love Robert Louis Stevenson also. I am halfway through this book and love it. It is about a Prince in a small region of Austria, who is very irresponsible in his duties. He has allowed his young French wife, Amalia Seraphina, who is very politically ambitious to rule. She is immature and being guided by a ruthless man who wants power and control. Through a series of events and chance meetings with people in the countryside one day who don’t recognize him, he becomes aware of the abuse of the people by his wife and the ruthless ruler. He is also stunned by rumors about his wife having an open affair with the ruthless ruler, and the low opinion the people have of him. The country is on the verge of revolution, and he was not even aware of it. He sets about to right all the wrongs and win the love of his wife, who despises him.
