Pretesting refers to any testing that occurs before the actual submission to NSTL. Your Device or Service will need to pass a complete set of the appropriate tests before you submit for testing.

Before a test question can be used in the Oxford Online Placement Test, we need to make sure that they are functioning effectively and fairly for all test takers. We ensure that the test questions have been written to the corrrect language level by pretesting them with students that are known to be of that same level. We then statistically analyse the data gathered, and make improvements to questions where necessary, to ensure that they are of the highest quality possible for the inclusion in the test.
