What is Praxis test anyways?
PRAXIS I The Praxis I test (PPST or Pre-Professional Skills Test) measures basic academic skills. The State of Alaska requires that all applicants for an Alaska Teaching Certificate must pass the Praxis I test of basic skills (reading, writing, and math). You may either complete a paper or computerized version of the test. If you have been selected to move on to Phase II of the program, you are encouraged to register for the Praxis I test as soon as possible, since scores may take 6-8 weeks to arrive. We must receive your passing Praxis I scores before we can process your Phase II application.
