PF (power factor) is a measurement used in AC power systems. PF is the ratio between Watts and VA and also happens to be the sin (mathematical function) of the phase difference between the AC Amps and AC Volts. Leading and lagging PF indicate if the phase difference between the AC Amps and AC Volts is positive or negative.
