What is Positive Reinforcement?
Positive reinforcement is a type of conditioning/training where something is given to a subject (dog/human etc.) after a behavior is displayed, thus increasing the frequency in which that particular behavior is displayed. Positive reinforcement lies in one of the quadrants of Operant Conditioning. Using Positive Reinforcement is the only way a dog can be rewarded. Example of Positive Reinforcement: Any form of praise, petting, toy or food given after the dog has done something the guardian likes. Dog Language: If I do what my guardian wants then I get a tasty treat. I’m going to do that again.
