What is Pop-up Slammer and how does it work?
The Pop-up Slammer is a Pop-up Blocker-like application that does much more than conventional blockers. It prevents unwanted ads from appearing on users desktops and forces pop-ups into “quarantine” inside a special tray called the Pop-up Slammer. This gives the user the option to view blocked pop-ups and select any that may be of interest. More importantly, because the Pop-up Slammer uses this quarantine technique, it effectively prevents advertisers from using new technology which is designed to circumvent conventional pop-up blockers. Theres little a pop-up creator can do to prevent a trip to the slammer.
