What is polynomial?
A polynomial is a function of a sum of a number of terms. Polynomials have no square roots of variables or fractional powers and are written in descending order, in which the largest exponent is first, followed by the next highest until you get to the number. The number with the largest exponent in a polynomial is called the leading term. For more information see here: http://www.purplemath.com/modules/polydefs.
