What is PLC anyway?

0

Power-line communication (PLC) is the transfer of data over the existing power supply grid. Different types of systems are known. Narrow Band PLC systems use frequencies below 500 kHz and are operating since several decades without any problems of electromagnetic emissions. REMPLI develops a new PLC system for these frequencies with significantly improved performance over existing systems. Broadband PLC uses frequencies between 1.5 and 30 MHz. The data rates are higher, but the coverage and reliability is lower. Problems with electromagnetic emissions in connection with PLC communication always refer to Broadband PLC and not Narrow Band PLC.
