What is Plaxos policy on spam and sending e-mail?
Does Plaxo spam? No. Plaxo does not send spam, maintain spam mailing lists, or support the activities of spammers. What mail is sent through Plaxo? Plaxo members have the ability to send messages (referred to as “Update Requests”) through Plaxo to selected contacts within their address book. The member maintains full control over whom they send an Update Request to, the personalized message content, and when the Update Request is sent. An Update Request message is never initiated by Plaxo. We act as an email service provider for the processing of the Update Requests and any responses the Plaxo member may receive, similar to a Yahoo user sending and receiving email through Yahoo’s service. Why is this mail sent? The purpose of the Plaxo Update Request is for the Plaxo member to provide their latest information to the contact in an effort to stay in touch with the recipient.
