What is plasma display burn-in?
Each pixel of a plasma display has phosphors. In a plasma display, when a pixel remains at maximum brightness for several minutes without interruption, it gets hot and a thin surface layer forms over the phosphor. This thin surface layer resists the penetration of the UV light that excites the phosphors during operation so the pixel shines less brightly. *PLASMA DISPLAYS ARE INHERENTLY SUSCEPTIBLE TO BURN-IN AND YOU SHOULD TAKE THE PRECAUTIONS AGAINST BURN-IN ADVISED BY THE MANUFACTURER OF THE PLASMA DISPLAY.
