Plants need sun, air and water to survive. They require a nutritious diet with lots of oxygen, carbon and hydrogen to live and thrive. They must have other elements supplied by rich soil or fertilizer to be healthy. Plant fertilizer can be man-made or nature-made, or a combination of the two. However, giving plants the proper soil can sometimes be tricky. Wilting, discolored leaves are a sign of poor health.
