What is Pitney Bowes’ view towards environmental stewardship?
Pitney Bowes has extended our commitment to environmental stewardship by incorporating life cycle approaches and strategic partnerships into our corporate initiatives. As an example, we have completed a baseline carbon footprint of the customer’s mailstream in order to identify opportunities to improve their environmental performance. Pitney Bowes is also leading efforts in the mailing industry by significantly increasing our research and partnerships to address environmental sustainability of mail. Pitney Bowes is an active participant in the USPS Greening of the Mail Task Force and the Direct Marketing Association’s Committee for Environment and Social Responsibility. We initiated the Aspen’s Institute’s Environmental Task Force for the International Mailing Initiative. In 2007 we were a founding member of the Eco Patent Commons with IBM, Nokia, Sony, and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. In 2008, Pitney Bowes established a partnership with the World Environment
