What is Pitney Bowes’ Enterprise Risk Management strategy?
Enterprise risk management (ERM) includes the methods and processes used by organizations to manage risks (or seize opportunities) related to the achievement of their objectives. By identifying and proactively addressing risks and opportunities, business enterprises protect and create value for their stakeholders, including owners, employees, customers, regulators, and society overall. At Pitney Bowes, we follow three principles in implementing and sustaining our approach to ERM. Our governance process establishes clear accountability, up through the board of directors and throughout our business units. Second, our risks/opportunities are identified, measured and accountability is assigned. Our program prioritizes and facilitates risk mitigation, improving processes and enhancing our strategic dialogue. Finally, we have included ERM as one of Pitney Bowes’ corporate objectives.
