What is physical needs in hierarchy needs?
Abraham Maslow first proposed his concept of the hierarchy of needs in his 1943 paper “A Theory of Human Motivation.” He carried his concept further in his 1954 book, “Motivation and Personality.” He published his “Eupsychian Management” in 1962. It did not sell well at that time as post war America didn’t care two hoots about psychology in the workplace. His concept of hierarchy of needs was progressively recognized over the years as having great value in effective management. Maslow’s works were republished by John Wiley, copyrighted by Ann Kaplan in 1998, under the new title of “Maslow on Management.” Abe, as he was called, was one of the earliest figures to realize that “the industrial situation may serve as the new laboratory for the study of psycho-dynamics, of high human development, of the ideal ecology for the human beings.” Maslow even predicted the downfall of the Soviet Union because of the Soviet’s violation of the hierarchy of needs.
