What is “photojournalistic” style of photography?
Photojournalism is a spontaneous style of black & white (sometimes color) photography that has recently become popular. Generally, a photo-journalistic photographer does not stage or pose any shots but works in the “background” capturing the wedding as it unfolds. The photo-journalistic photographer does not “impose” him/herself on the subjects and accepts all of life’s “little imperfections”. That is, the photo journalistic-photographer takes all photos as they occur, even when the subject may be striking a less than magnificent pose. The photo-journalistic photographer needs to respond quickly, therefore, 35mm automated equipment is the tool of choice for this style of photography and photo-journalistic photographers take a very large volume of photos, knowing in advance that many may not be acceptable.
