This combination medication is used to treat symptoms associated with a cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness. How To Use Phenylephrine Hcl/guaifenesin Take Phenylephrine Hcl/guaifenesin by mouth. Tablets should be swallowed whole. Do not crush or chew them. If stomach upset occurs, this may be taken with food or milk. Take Phenylephrine Hcl/guaifenesin as directed. Do not increase the dose or take it more often or longer than prescribed.
