What is phantom pregnancy?
A Phantom Pregnancy is when you are experiencing many of the symptoms of pregnancy but are not pregnant. It is also known as a spurious pregnancy, imaginary pregnancy, hysterical pregnancy, wind in the bowels, or ‘grossesse nerveuse’. The symptoms include heartburn, morning sickness, bloating, nausea, milk production, achy legs, constantly tiredness, missed periods and some can also feel the baby kicking, like in a real pregnancy. It’s caused basically by psychological reasons, like an excessive urge to have a baby or not to have one. However, it’s not psychological in some cases when the presence of an ovarian cyst is causing the above mentioned symptoms.
