What is Petes position on 2004s Ballot Measure 36?

I opposed Ballot Measure 36 because I think Oregonians need to be careful about what they put in or take out of our Oregon Constitution. I don’t think marriage should be defined in Oregon’s Constitution. A state constitution should define the roles of the basic elements of government, like the courts, the legislature and the governor, and should protect the public from government power, like our constitution’s bill of rights does. On the topic of Ballot Measure 36, please feel free to review my ballot measure statement opposing it in the 2004 state voters pamphlet.
