What is Personal and Public Involvement (PPI)?
Involving individuals who use services in plans and decisions about their specific care or treatment needs is an integral part of PPI. PPI is also about involving local communities or the general population where the issues are of broad public concern or interest, such as the location or nature of local services. It is about building capacity so that the public have greater confidence and more opportunity to influence the planning, commissioning and delivery of services in ways that are relevant and meaningful to them.
