What is Perseids?
The Perseids are a meteor shower from the comet Swift-Tuttle. They are called this because they appear to come from the constellation Perseus. These meteors leave a stream of debris called the Perseid cloud.
The meteor shower occurs mid-July each year, with the peak in activity between Aug 9 and 14. During the peak, the meteors reach up to 60 or more per hour. They are seen primarily in the northern hemisphere.
