What is permitted in my luggage on a plane?
The size and number of carry-ons vary by airline, normally it’s one or two pieces of luggage small enough to fit into overhead bins. Some airlines are charging for carry-ons now! Many items are prohibited to be carried on, including sharp objects like knives and box cutters, sporting goods such as baseball bats and ski poles, guns and firearms, tools, martial arts and self defense items, explosive and flammable materials, chemicals and other dangerous items. All liquids and aerosols need to be under 3 oz and only what fits in a quart-size plastic zip bag.
