Answer Percent for art is a widely used global concept that encourages developers to set aside a proportion of capital building costs for funding public art projects. Percent for Art otherwise known as Section 106 Agreements creates the opportunity to secure funds from development within Redbridge. In this instance contributions may not be directly a part of the building itself, but is a benefit to the community. Section 106 requirements for public art contributions from developers are currently stated in the previous Unitary Development Plan (UDP) section ES9 as: “The Council will seek a contribution of 1% of the capital building expenditure of major new development, redevelopment or refurbishment proposals for one of the following: 1.
