What is Penteo?
Penteo is a stereo-to-5.1 surround sound conversion process. We do stereo-to-5.1 remastering for motion picture producers, broadcasters, syndicators, downloadable entertainment sites, record companies, and television networks. We also develop and license our technology for live production, and have a real-time unit for live television. We’ve developed our own method of converting decades of entertainment — the thousands of legacy stereo mixes of music, movie, and TV soundtracks directly into excellent quality 5.1 surround, without the need for multitrack masters or remix sessions. We do it very differently than any previous method, using what we call “panorama slicing”. But more about that later. Music cuts and soundtracks are precisely converted from stereo master mixes, under the eyes and ears of an upconversion engineer.
