In 2003, the Department of Medicine and the School of Medicine entered into a collaborative agreement with the government of Botswana and the Gates Foundation to develop an HIV care program for the citizens of Botswana. We now have an inpatient firm at Princess Marina Hospital in Botswana that includes two full time faculty, residents and medical students. One senior resident each month rotates there to be a part of the firm.
