What is PEER Servants relationship with an MFI and micro-entrepreneurs?
The MFI is a partner with PEER Servants; it is the MFI that has direct contact with and provides financial services to micro-entrepreneurs. Except for special situations, e.g., when PEER Servants volunteer teams participate in local training conferences, the MFI has the primary interaction with the micro-entrepreneurs. However, PEER Servants makes every effort to communicate stories of what micro-entrepreneurs are doing and the MFI partners are generally very open to receiving visitors who wish to see first-hand the impact of the MED work. PEER Servants involvement usually begins when a church or other organization of Christians in a country initiates a request for assistance in developing an MFI program. PEER Servants volunteers will meet with interested parties and provide information that will help the group understand what is involved in setting up an MFI. At the same time, PEER Servants will be starting an assessment process to determine if this potential MFI Partner is a good can
