‘PDP’ – Personal Development Planning – is a term currently used in higher education, although its processes are also integral to the non HE Progress File. HE staff have been using these processes for many years, especially in academic and personal tutoring, but the process was named and formalised in the National Review of Higher Education (The Dearing Review’) in 1997.
