What is Pastel Art?
Pastel art is an art form of drawing portraits and pictures. It involves the usage of a pastel stick that consists of pure powdered pigment. This type of pigment does not change color or tone when exposed to light. The pastel art also involves the use of oil based pastel which is a combination of pastel stick and wax crayons. Due to the presence of this pigment, the pastel art becomes permanent. In fact, the specimens of pastel art are known to survive for decades without losing color or tone. And, that is the main reason why it is still the most popular form of making sketches.
