What is “Password Checking” in Lotus Notes?

0

Answer On March 10, 2009, IT Services has implemented an additional security feature called “Password Checking” on all Domino servers. This feature will store your Lotus Notes password (normally stored only inside your User ID file on your computer) in an encrypted format inside the Domino Directory on the servers. When logging into Lotus Notes, the Lotus Notes client will compare the password in the ID file with the password encrypted on the server. If these passwords match, you will be able to access the server. If these passwords do not match, you will be prompted with a message that you must change your password on this workstation to match the password stored on the server (see Fig.1).
